Overview

Ådehlÿ He Zo was founded durring the late 13th century in fall of the year 1173, by Ailudectus Phodnezerf. The establishment of Ådehlÿ He Zo was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Ådehlÿ He Zo's construction back out of the project. Ailudectus Phodnezerf pushed on reguardles, and Ådehlÿ He Zo was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Ådehlÿ He Zo was built using the conventions of Dwarvern durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Ådehlÿ He Zo is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Ådehlÿ He Zo is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of crampt split-log ties streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town is protected by a series of wooden fences ringing the town's parimiter, which are likly intended to keep varrious beasts out of town rather than protect it from attack by any intelegent agents. Unfortuantly, these bare minimum defences are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A quick look in any direction shows Ådehlÿ He Zo is filled with vices. There are many taverns, brothels are advertising their services on the streets, cardsharks are plying their illicit trade within public squairs, and every shop has at least three signs advertising various sales on goods. That alone wouldn’t be too noticeable, if it wasn’t just so omnipresent and overwhelmingly how the people of this town live. Or if the general public wasn’t so enthusiastically, openly, and merrily participating in these activities.

Ådehlÿ He Zo has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Ådehlÿ He Zo.

Ådehlÿ He Zo is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

While Ådehlÿ He Zo might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Ådehlÿ He Zo's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is long in Ådehlÿ He Zo.

The Howler near Ådehlÿ He Zo are known to be quite timid.

Ådehlÿ He Zo's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves performance art to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 3 via speaking in tongues.
